The book examines themes of love and marriage in some European new wave films of the 1950s and 60s, films like Godard\u2019s <em>Le M\u00e9pris<\/em>, Antonioni\u2019s <em>La Notte<\/em> and Fellini\u2019s <em>8\u00bd<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>He is also working on a&nbsp;short book called <em>Deleuze and Lola Mont\u00e8s<\/em> (Bloomsbury) which offers an introduction to the film writings of Gilles Deleuze through the example of Max Ophuls\u2019 1955 film, <em>Lola Mont\u00e8s<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Richard Rushton is currently drafting a&nbsp;book called In Praise of Love.
