Hear Me Roar! Festival 2016 Ages, Stages, Phases.

8–12 March, Across Lancaster Bringing together diverse communities and ideas, the Hear Me Roar! Festival seeks to promote intergenerational dialogue understanding and cooperation, between feminists past, present and future. Highlights of the festival include: World-renowned artist and activist Lois Weaver performs as her alter-ego, Tammy WhyNot, in What Tammy Needs to Know about Getting Old and Having Sex.

Award-winning Project O present their performance/artist talk/dance show Benz Punany.

A day-long symposium, Performing Feminism: Ages Stages, Phases, with a performance lecture by a surprise celebrated comic, supported by the Centre for Gender and Women’s Studies in co-operation with Insight (LICA). With contributions from acclaimed stand-up comic Ava Vidal, Geraldine Harris, Debra Ferreday, Mary Paterson and Maddy Costa.

New performances by Stella Duffy, Becci Sharrocks and Maya Bugge in a triple bill.

Showings of Still Alice starring Julianne Moore and the award winning Iranian film The Day I Became a Woman.

Workshops aimed at all ages from the pre-school to the free bus pass
