Sensory Research Colloquium
Thursday 18th May 2017
LICA A36
Aim
The Colloquium aims to increase mutual awareness and explore opportunities for sensory-related research with colleagues from across the university. We will introduce LICA’s recent publication Sensory Arts and Design in the broader context of Sensory Studies internationally, then give researchers from all Faculties the chance to briefly introduce their own sensory research, to see if we can stimulate new collaborations on this theme.
The keynote speaker is David Howes, Professor of Anthropology and Law at Concordia (Montreal). Professor Howes is a leading international authority on sensory studies research. He jointly founded the Centre for Sensory Studies at Concordia and the journal Senses and Society.
